League III End of Season Party - 29.5.11

It's that time of the year again! Get your party hats on. Another successfully rad season in the bag!

Plan is for Downham on the 29th (next day is a bank holiday. Let's get crunked old school).

All are welcome (league players, polo players, polo supporters, polo haters, whatever!).

Should we organize beer (stubbies!) and food as we have done in previous years?

Should we have league voting for random things ("best ref" comes to mind)?

If only we had some sort of polo boombox... Hmmmmmmm..

The beer and food question is more about organizing beer and food for sale to raise money for either the LHBPA or London Open (or whatever else it is we may need to raise money for).

I'll happily sort a BBQ and try and raise some money for the LO if people are cool with that?

1 veggie and 1 meat BBQ? Burgers, hot dogs, veggie kebabs, cob corn?

I don't think anyone will mind.

Question: is there much money in it, though?

I'll bring my BBQ for meat.

Last year we made ~£180 on End of League BBQ. Not to be sniffed at? But yeah, kind of sucks to be fundraising from players all the time?

£180 is more than I'd have guessed. And yeah, it does suck to always be paying out of our own pockets, but whatevs.

Max - I don't have PLA yet so no burnable rings until I get some (it's £40/kg so might be a while)

Why not Downs? I know with the cage its a bit less "social" than the steps, but there's more space for everyone to chill out and relax, and we can piss in the trees after a few beers...
