    Greetings,

This is an email to alert you to a rare London performance by Bill Drummond.

This performance is to commemorate the publication of the book 'Imajine' by Claudel Casseus with a foreword written by Bill Drummond.

Bill Drummond and Claudel Casseus worked together at the Ghetto Biennale in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in December 2009. Two-and-a-half weeks later Haiti was hit by an earthquake that killed over 200,000 people.IMAJINE tells the story of Claudel and his family over a two-week period, from the moment the earthquake struck.

To quote the introductory text: ‘This book is about: EARTHQUAKE, HAITI, BEING ALIVE, WATCHING PEOPLE DIE, RUNNING, THE END OF THE WORLD, HOPE FEAR, PRAYING, SURVIVING, STRUGGLE CORRUPTION, TRUST. But more importantly it contains words not mediated through the mind of a Western journalist but the words of a young man called Claudel Casseus, who has lived in Port-au-Prince all his life and has never written about anything else before.’

Bill Drummond will be reading extracts from the book and signing copies for sale.

He will then instigate the sculpture '40 T Shirts For Sale' and these will be sold off at £20 each until the last of them are gone, on a first-come-first-served basis.

The performance takes place on Wednesday May 18th, 6.30pm.
At THE IDLER ACADEMY, 81 Westbourne Park Road, LONDON. W2 5QH tel: 0845 250 1281
The venue is small, places are strictly limited. Tickets cost £20. Which includes wine and small pieces of bread and meat

Further details on how to book can be found by 'phoning the Academy or contacting:

  • I've never had a pretentious art wank. But I like the sound of it.

  • ^ get naked except for a Charles II wig, dust yourself in gold powder paint, pop a Cadbury's cream egg up your jacksie and knock one out while reciting Plato.

  • ^ so 2010

  • I think a majority of articles that I've seen about John Cale/Cage have used both names for one of them. Easy typo to make.
