In PayPal:
1) Go to the transaction details
2) Click the link in the box at the bottom of the page to go to the resolution centreRemember 2 things:
1) PayPal do not want to incur chargebacks from your bank and that you are able to instruct your bank to recall the money
2) #1 motivates them to ensure that they manage the refund and not your bankSo if PayPal do not accomodate you, then speak to your bank to chargeback the transaction (refund you directly). But do give PayPal all of the chances to do this themselves rather than getting your bank to do it before PayPal could've reasonably sorted it.

Good work Velocio.
As sad and infuriating as this shite is the bad traders are by far the massive minority.
I'm still amazed regularly by the good trading with complete strangers that I continue to complete over the last 4 years. -

It is just sad that it's all the easy straighforward purchases I've made through the site that made me so willingly fork out, despite the fact I had a gut feeling something was up... In future must trust instincts!
But yeah thanks Velocio appreciate you looking into it, hopefully get the pennies back soon.
I've raised and escalated with paypal, any way of getting them to prioritise it? Said it could take up to 30 days, which is a bit of a while away.

Nope, nothing I can do... it's truly between you paypal and the individual behind the accounts.
-
• #8
Sorry I didn't mean from you, you've done enough! just whether you(or anyone else) had experience of this and knew how the system worked, and if there is a way to hurry things along.

I gave FullCampa the benefit of the doubt because I didn't realise he was HOTPRO. Glad you caught on to this Velocio, good work.

Also.. i swear he had a star by his name? So he donated? I know its not really a good thing to be asking about but surely theres some lead there to who he is? Though actually probably just a one off from one of his scam money filled paypal accounts.

Sold
If for any reason sale will not work out properly will you please let me know?
No problem, but I wouldn't count on it.....
Fuck, so he wrote this to himself? Probably to entice the buyer into holding onto his "bargain" and paying quickly. Scum.

Sorry for the big pictures. But if this guy is taking peoples money and ripping off honest cyclists, then he needs to be caught.

Note: I haven't determined in any way that he is a scammer/thief.
I can't do that as no transaction has concluded on here to say so.
All I've done is determined that the overwhelming feeling given the bad transaction on velospace coupled with highly suspicious behaviour on here gives no basis of trust for a transaction to take place.
It may well be the case that he is honest and the transactions do complete.
The problem is, he isn't acting like an honest trader and the level of concern is so high (lots of people PM'd me yesterday) that I'm not willing to give it enough time that if it's a scam that more people are duped into it.
We lack personally identifiable info, any provenance on what is being sold, any history on the web, and what we do see in attempts to delete traces and cover up things as soon as questions are asked set off a lot of alarm bells in everyone watching or trading with him/her.
It's important to know the distinction though... we are acting ahead of a problem based on what we currently know and the general past experience of this wild west trading system.

I've got a feeling this is a certain scammer, who's been active in Holland for quite a while..
Might be a coincidence, but he also was from around Eindhoven. Dutch Cheese knows about him too.
If it is him, I've actually met the guy..While typing ^ I did some 'research' and it looks like he used hotpro at xs4all dot nl in a few other scams in Holland - looks like we're dealing with the guy..
Actually a whole lot of people have 'dealt' with him and Dutch police know about him, but don't do anything about it.Edit; another used emailaccount: 4hotpro at googlemail dot com

There is a very strong suspicion that the individual who has registered these various aliases is participating in fraud.
The suspicion is aroused by:
THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO SUGGEST THAT HE WILL COMPLETE ANY TRANSACTION
ALL OF HIS USER ACCOUNTS HAVE NOW BEEN BANNED FROM LFGSS
Those wishing to contact him should do so via the email addresses above, I would probably suggest the Go4LoPro@googlemail.com one as it was the earliest registered and relates to his PayPal account... but CC them all.
Those who started transactions via PayPal are advised to end the transactions and recall the payments. Use this thread as part of your evidence.

All of the posts he deleted have been undeleted.
His velospace user which also show empty adverts after suspected fraud there:

All of this has been pieced together by a large number of people and verified by myself.
Unfortunately, we do not have any basis by which to trust this user, and so it should be assumed that there is no basis for trust.
