2nd Exit - Reigate Hill (downhill - FRONT BRAKE!/Busy Road/Walk down?)
Walk down?! Reigate is probably my favourite downhill, I can't think of a faster one. It's great fun.
Oh and Ditchling is doable fixed, it's just a question of if you can do it...

Most of us managed it fixed today...
Droput was the king though.

All hills except Ditchling are doable fixed but take care downhill into Reigate town centre.
smash the ditchling.
storm reigate hill.the ditchling is most definitely do-able and reigate has a huge run out before the train tracks.

Riding with the chaps and chapettes yesterday, I found the descents tougher than the climbs. Its pretty brutal spinning up after mashing your way up a hill.

I may be up for this but am also planning a brighton ride for 5th June (my 30th birthday)

Skive and I lead out into Ditchling yesterday. Not sure what happened to Skive (he finished ahead of me) but I remember Dropout passing me about a third up and he finished first. I crawled in 5th or 6th I think.
Must ride more hills.
Tempted by this but have family stuff on Sunday.

I was second behind Droput at the top of ditchling and I don't even think he was still sweating by the time I arrived. It was a fuck yeah!/fucking hell who is this guy moment.
I watched Skive do at least 45mph down ditchling road to the sea. Made me a little nervous, then I almost hit a little dog. Close call so just watched where I was going down to the pier

I think we're hijacking this thread but...
I tried to lead out down the hill but had no chance of keeping it up. Touched 30mph and then had to grab the brake before I out spun myself.
To those of you going this weekend...whatever you do, enjoy that descent! Just don't stack it right at the bottom like I did :(

Do it! Haven't done a London to Brighton on my Charge yet, and the Stragglers do so like a challenge.
Anyway, back to this weekend...

Hmm. I'm signed up for the FNRttC to Brighton the previous evening (which I would be doing fixed, as always), but it's very tempting to do this instead. Have to think...

FNRttC is a nice bunch of people, but they're slooow and this way I don't lose a night's sleep.

How pacey? Don't mind speed. FNRttC ride is sloow , because it's a large group of very mixed ability.

For those that missed out on today's ride I'm going to do a re-run next Saturday. Start time will be 10.30 from Furnival gardens just down from Hammersmith bridge.
Will post the full route route tomorrow am but this is the route from down near Mitcham. Its from the routes database. It's a great ride and apart from the section out of Wimbledon and Reigate hill it's all on pretty quiet roads.I'm going to be riding fixed.
Cheers
