Birmingham to Stratford 7/5/11

A few of us need to do some more longer rides to prepare for touring in Europe and beyond this summer, Stratford's about 25-20 mile away, we can leave in the morning, eat a packed lunch there then cycle back. Real leisurely, touring speed, not a race.

As we become more adept a the distance we can do it more often.

Leave at 10, meet at Robin Hood Island. Anyone that wants to get the train to Stratford and just cycle back is also welcome.

Definitely up for doing it again, but i'll be away for two weeks from next Thursday.

Might be up for meeting in Stratford. I'll see if I can get any Cov folks interested. It's a nice ride from Leamington.

Sooo... any plan? Still thinking of riding over from Leamington and meeting you guys in Stratford. I've got a couple interested in riding out from Leam. I just hope all these thunder storms don't kick off until later in the day!

Sarcasm? No. I enjoy the cooling sensation of light rain and the smell of wet grass in the morning. And the air seems cleaner when it's been raining.

And the answer to your question is yes, I have numerous times.

Might have been light rain where you live but it was pissing it down here till half an hour ago.

Yeah, when you're touring often your only option is to carry on regardless; you still have to get to the next campsite which may be 50 miles away, and you have no idea if/when it's even supposed to stop raining.
