  • nice work edinburgh!

    uk champs in scotland ftw!

    any idea on date?

  • Yeah, pretty sure it will be the 16th 17th of July. Just need to confirm with venue.

With the two courts, we are gonna try get it done on the Saturday, Sunday left for throw ins or finals if need be.

We'll have these details sorted as soon as possible.

  • But will there be ''1 swimming pool next to the courts PARTIES every EVENINGS/NIGHTS''?

  • Awesome news - definitely make it the UK champs!

I always prefer more group rounds/team games rather than random throw ins, but I'm sure it'll rule either way.

  • x2
    Sounds great regardless.

  • That's really awesome, the sooner you guys can confirm dates the better so people can book trains/planes etc...

Also the Dunwich Dynamo is on the same weekend..

  • Bump. Any more info? This should be pretty awesome, but train tickets get pretty expensive without booking early.

  • Sleeper might be the cheapest method.

    Travel up 9pm Friday
    Play saturday
Sleeper down sat or sunday night at 11-12ish
Back in London Sun/Monday morning at 7am

  • Megabus looks cheap from Victoria, £5.50ish each way from Victoria but I think you'd have to put your bike in a bag, if they'd let you take it on at all – I'm not sure of their luggage policy.

  • Isn't it like a 12 hour bus ride?

I've been on one to ed once, it's like the intercity equivilent of a night bus from Trafalgar square... Mostly drunks and junkies, can be in equal parts awesome party bus, or scary vomit and psyco filled bus. Going up on Friday night too? :)

Unless they've been cleaned up in the last 10 years or so. But I'd assume not. I've also got bikes on them whole, but they tend to follow the rules in Victoria more so than outside London.

    This currently priced at £92.50.

  • This might be a trip where renting a car makes sense?

Let's wait and see what they say about dates and confirmation first. But at the bus prices, I'm tempted to do that (if I can). And I hate buses.

  • Easyjet inc bike LTN > EDI arr 0720, ret EDI > LGW arr 2245 = £103 currently, and that's before you get the train to & from the airports.

  • and flying there is retarded.

Rent a car? Even if one of the Degenerates had a licence, it's a long drive, and I wouldn't trust any of us to drive & not drink.

  • and flying there is retarded.

    Agreed.

  • We get some other sucker with a license to drive. And we drink. And it's not that far, is it? 6 hours maybe? I've done Montreal - Toronto dozens of times and it's about the same distance.

  • maybe 8 hours, i'm not driving you fuckers.

Depending on time of day, 8 hours. We normally allow 5/6 for MCR, and EDI is at least another 2. In the middle of the night, it might be a different story.

  • If I were to stay the night either side of the tourney, i'd be happy to drive, then I could have a drink on the day.

We could get a VW Transporter or something. Let me look into it...

I might be able to borrow one of the Galaxys from work.
