Campy Delta brake cable problem

Posted on
  • Hey there.
Been trying to finish my new bike for a while now but the brakes seem to hate me.
Bought some campy delta's for a good price some time ago and fitted the front one on my bike a couple of times but every time i use it, the cable slips out of the caliper.
I googled my ass off and found something on Flickr about the compression of the cablehousing:

Couldn't really figure out what is to be changed about the compression of the housing. Only thing i can think of is that it should be compression-free. Could any of you confirm this? Or does anyone have a different solution?

If my cable housing should be compression-free, which housing would be useful? I know Jagwire has some proper teflon cables like these:

But would a cheaper version with 'low-compression' also work? (like these:)

Hope someone can help me out!
    Cheers,
    Florian

  • Ok.. i might just need a thicker brake cable to get the pinch nut in my delta brake to hold the cable down. Any ideas on some good ones? And do i need a bigger cable housing for these?
