  • Anybody doing it this year? It's the 3 of us at the moment and I thought the more the merrier. Afraid we are only thinking to do the 26 miles for various reasons but should be fun enough.

  • Where/when? Is there a weblink?

  • no

  • did it last year. good fun.

  • might do it again this year.

  • might do it again this year.

Do tell if you decide to do it, maybe we could team up? Not bothered with the team sign up discount, but like I said, the more people the more fun on the day.

  • yeah they did make us walk that short section in the hospital grounds which was infuriating and people actually wore the different coloured t shirts. our route was pink. was never wearing it...

  • ok its hardly the usual lfgss ride but its good for people not sure about riding in london. not a bad introduction.

  • Whatever stupid or easy it is, it's for a good cause and also a fun day out with mates. Not every ride has to be hardcore and on fixies only, does it?

  • YouTube - London Bikeathon 2010

    no thanks.

I wish I was as cool as "No Thanks"...

  • I did it year before last, longest ride i'd ever done, it was good fun. I'd just moved too so it was a great way to see lots of the city

might do it fixed this year

  • i'm signed up.. which start point are going from?

  • We are starting from Battersea

  • Shame - I'm starting from Thames Barrier for the 52miles..

  • oh well, nevermind, would probably bump into you somehow without knowing! Would love to do the 52 but my physio would probably kill me for that. She already wanted to kill me for the 26.

  • yeah - it will be longest I've done. I commute every day but this will count as a step up for me.

  • Anyone interested in doing it this year? I did it a couple years ago and wasn't all that impressed with the route and sign posting, but want to support leukemia research. I was looking at doing the 26 or 52 mile route from Thames Barrier.

  • Approximately 25% of the staff where I work are doing the 75 mile endurance course this year. Haven't yet decided if I want to do it fixed but probably will.

  • Really didn't enjoy it last year, not great organisation and signposting.

I will be doing this route. Will keep an eye out for a fixed.

Sweet. Come for a chat if you do see me - I'll probably be wearing an LFGSS cap and riding extremely slowly.

  • I did it fixed last year, was a chilled ride with cousins. We did 26, I'm thinking of doing it again this year, can be my good deed for the month.

  • I will be doing the 56 mile route from Chelsea. Seems like a cool way to get to know some of the parts of London I'd never usually go to, and I especially want to support Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research for personal reasons. Hopefully the route and signposting have improved from previous years if they weren't great previously.

  • I'm not impressed with the route efforts for the 75 miler, gotta say. Still no maps / cue sheets and the ride is next weekend. Was hoping to do an initial recce of the route this weekend to prepare but that's out now.

Better hope the route is well signposted and none of the signs fall down or are tampered with and everybody knows exactly where each turning is, eh?
