Loaner Bikes

A polo bike to borrow if you need one.

I'm happy to keep this out of my house now as the great Oz clear-out has begun. So, since a few people have asked where it is, perhaps we could keep this thread up to date so we can keep tabs on it, arrange collections and drop off etc.

Currently FlipModSquadron is using it for Beginners on Tuesdays

To add to this, i'll put up the heythrop loaner (Slightly more advanced now!). It's open to use upon return to kensington post polo. There is a bike shed for storage

Just to say that this is in need of some mechanics fairly desperately so isn't in great condition at the moment. It's useable though.

What needs to be done to it?

Just needs a bit of an over-haul. There are some interesting noises coming from the drive train area. Think it just needs some tightening.

Flip will be taking it to Vaidas Bicycles who sponsors my team, and where Arunas works who's the mechanic extraordinaire at beginners.

It works at the moment so is available to loan, just might be a bit shaky...

Can I use it on Tuesday if it's not being used?

Yep, as long as Flip is coming. He had it there last week. Much better for you to destroy that one that mine. ;)

So the freewheel exploded on Tuesday and the poloaner is currently running on 'road' gear.
Does anyone happen to have a spare micro crankset or a large freewheel?
I can swap for a 155mm, 36t sinz crankset and or beers?

I'll reiterate my offer of a 24t 58bcd 5 bolt chainring if any one has cranks to fit.

Cheers L. We have money for this now if this makes a difference. The 2 places that sold the 22t freewheel don't do them anymore and can't find any cheap cranks.

Hey,i've just moved back to London from Brighton and played there.unfortunatly my bike was stolen a week before i moved back.Any chance i could use the loaner if its going,i'll probably be at newington but just wanted to find out where it is what needs doing to it before its polo ready?

It needs some micro gearing cranks or 22t freewheel.
econodog is the current keeper of this and he'll need it for beginners sessions on Tuesdays, so you can work it out with him if you like. He lives south.

I do definitely have her, she's been in my kitchen over christmas keeping warm and dry.. Would somebody care to take her off me hands? Not gonna be able to go to peckham tomorrow anyway due to axle issues, but live nearby if someone wants to pick her up?

Yes I do, and would be glad to shift it on, if he comes by peckham tomorrow he can ride it off? Does that suit?

Kev, I had the Archie as a loaner for a while, but I nabbed the wheels for my firetruck and Helen's bike and then passed on some other bits... I have no idea where it is now: I either threw it out, or it was stolen, or it's being used by someone?

We should probably build another North loaner...
