Dislocated rib? Does that exist? Sounds like something that could exist.
I've cracked ribs falling off a bike before. And it feels like what you've described.

That really doesn't sound good. I think you're asking the wrong people - go and see a Doctor.

Ribs can dislocate.
They can also pop like knuckles.
You may have just pulled a muscle.
It may also be burrowing parasites.
Google said popped rib too, but surely that wouldn't go then come back, the crack / pop was in the middle by the carteledge, i've done that before so it may not be connected.
yeah i think a trip to the doctors might be in order, or just htfu and take a pill?

Doctors.

Get it checked. The ribs can shift at the sternocostal joint, and can often be due to your handlebar position.

still probably a muscle strain.
I occasionally get this too. But its usually fine again soon enough. Can you be more specific about location of pain?
Also listen to pistaboy- he's a physio and therefore knows this stuff inside out.

The pain is on the right side below the pec and in the middle of the body, it only hurts when i breath really.

Generally not a good idea to give out medical advice without examination. Sounds like Costochondritis, not sure what the 'crack' was though, take some Ibuprofen and see your GP if you're worried.

^ what he said.
I'm just staring at an anatomy textbook and wishing revising it was more fun. -

"This condition is thought to be bost commonly due to repetitive microtrauma, or overuse."
That would be the excessive masturbation i guess.
I'll ride slow tonight and go in the morning...
What a pain!
Has anyone ever suffered with chest pain after riding.
the other day i finished, showered and as i stretched my chest cracked, went for dinner and was fine for about 2 hours, then i started getting sharp an achy / sharp pain upon taking breath.
i've had this before on the left side but only for a few secs, this lasted 5 hours and ached for the next day.
Thought i was fine so rode again today and its just started again. Could this be something to do with riding position?
