Wanted: Lopro/pursuit frame

Posted on
  • Just wondering if anyone could help me out with getting a pursuit setup started.

Thinking of running 650 front 700 back but if anyone has any advice let me know.

Post links for Internet shops too please.

  • What size frame are you looking for?

  • If this is for racing on, ie Track Pursuiting, you need to have equal wheel sizes. 650 front/700 rear is no longer allowed under BC/UCI rules.

  • Just for road use at the moment as I'm only 17 but I'm hoping to try out some track in time.

    54, I'd say 56 at a push

Still ok for TT though isn't it?

  • if you click on hilary stones banner and then onto bikes, there is a mint yellow argos in your size, its a full bike though, but maybe worth a look...

  • @upstart
Yes, still OK for time trials under CTT Regulations.

  • Good luck in finding one but i may say, if this is your first fixed gear (im assuming) dont go for 650 front.

  • Thanks, it's my third, my first weren't exactly the best.
First was a 1980s (I think) puegeot tour de monde or something.
My second is just a cheap rackedy thing I put together for £70

  • That argos is lovely

    Why?

  • I had one for a short while and riding it on the roads was a nightmare. cracks in the floor sent me over the bars daily. Not the best thing for a first fixed gear. And if the 'why' was at the 'Im assuming its your first fixed gear' comment it was because of 'Just for road use at the moment as I'm only 17 but I'm hoping to try out some track in time. ' It wasnt a negative comment.

  • its fine. i understand why you posted it, just lent a friends 650c, i've got to take corners really wide, if i lean to much pedal smashes the floor... BAD CRAIC

  • Newcastle accent?

  • Not in a negative way, I just lived up there for a few years. I left a little while back but there was a group starting called recyce your bike, or something like that. May be good for cheap builds, think it may have been down on osney mead near byker. Saying that I could be talking crap

  • Aye :)

I've been meaning to take a look up there but I never have the time :/
