I am presently renovating a Series 1 Moulton Deluxe which is totally original for use as an everyday London bike. This thing cost £42 and thus I am looking for some modern bits and pieces which are robust and useable but do not cost the earth and do not look too fancy. If you have any of the following for sale or in a parts bin, or any experience of what works and what does not with these 1960s cycles I would appreciate the contact:
Tyres & Tubes – presently Raleigh Record 37-349 and falling to bits. Would like a pair of Schwalbe Marathons, Kojaks, Stelvios, Brompton tyres or any alternatives. Need not be new, just cheap and not life expired. Also inner tubes.
Wheels – presently Sturmey dynohub/FW4 to chrome steel rims in fairly nice shape. Would be interested in any alloy rimmed 16” wheels – I don’t know if Brompton wheels will fit? I think the rears will but the fronts are too narrow? Would prefer 4+ speed as the present gear range is a little low at the top end. A matching shifter to the rear would be useful.
Brakes – presently original long-reach side pull brakes and levers which are not good. Interested in decent replacements which will help stop me adequately. Probably with drop levers as I will change to drops soon.
Cranks – Old Nicklin cottered cranks. Can these be replaced with modern Shimano equivalents? I have an older set of 1994 Deore LX and a set of 1997 STX RC cranks and BBs which are spare that I could use if so – don’t want to try if it is not going to work.
Handlebars, stem, saddle, seatpost, pedals – Interested in cheap drop handlebars and stem to fit a 1” headset, also alloy seatpost (25.8 dia, I think) and decent comfortable saddle – Turbo, Brooks, etc. Metal pedals with toe-clips too.
Front rack – interested if anyone has a spare Moulton front rack.
Please PM me if you have any of the bits listed above that you want to get rid of. I will be donating any spare bits left over that I cannot use to the Moulton Preservation Society. Located in London N4 but can easily travel locally to pick up (once I get the tyres sorted!).
oh and also some 42cm wide Cannondale C3 bars, and matching stem, 90mm +6 degree rise too. lemme know if you're interested!

Formatting Help
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
