Wheels for old bike that needs to be a tourer/work machine

Currently I have a set of bollox wheels that keep on falling apart that are 20+ year old with a screw on freewheel gears.

I need a set of decent wheel for the old pug because I want to ride the Rhine route. They need to be modern, fairly cheap and take a good pounding from a fat man.

I don't want to spend more than £100 tbh.

have you looked at sjs? these rigida sputniks on deore hubs would fit the bill; 50 odd quid over budget tho ;(

They are £152 ... it is a rubbish pug .. just need something heavy and solid.

7/8 speed shimano .. the derailler will do 10 speed no problem .. just a pair of wheels that stay straight and are fairly cheap because it is also my beater.
