Wanted: Small road frame (44-51cm?)

Posted on
  • Looking for a frame for my girl, never much around in these small sizes that i can find. She's 5'2", and im ideally after a Road frame for conversion, as im not sure she cares much about weight or stiffness, chortle chortle!

I lent her my younger brothers 54cm and i think she might be into it, so id like to build her something that fits, and its an excuse to build more wheels.

    Thanks, Robyn.

  • You'd would need to be looking at 650c frames. 700c frames stop at about 52cm, and they are both hard to find and goofy lookin.

  • Thats a good point, ill see what i can find, that frame is NICE. Might be a bit too nice if she decides its not for her though. Cheers ill keep looking.

  • I have a Bottechi 989 frame that I will be selling shortly.

It's the same frame as this: http://www.singlespeed.at/vintage-bicycles/bottecchia-989/bottecchia-989.html although there's no Columbus sticker on there anymore. I know they made them in Columbus SL and also Gara though. It's currently built up with a similar groupset too, but with Atlanta 96 rims rather than those red deep v's.

It's a 52cm ctt seat tube x 51cm ctc top tube. I am 5'7 and have a 130mm stem on and the seat quite high to fit me.

It's in good condition with just a few marks & scratched, but generally good in that lovely Ferrari red. I'll be looking for £125 for the frame & forks alone. I'm only selling it as I just bought myself a Colnago.

Let me know if it's of interest and I can take pics for you.

  • I have this frame for sale, seattube 51 cm c-t
    Chrome of fork is okay
Chrome on chaistay signs of age.
    Campagnolo dropouts

  • Sorry, forgot the price: 85 euro, posted

  • Interested in the Bottechi 989 if your not : )

  • Brig, your picture isnt showing up, care to PM me?

Also, youre welcome to that Bottechi as it is sadly more than i have to spend, its drop dead gorgeous though, if it was a 58 id have it for myself!

  • I have a vintage Gitane from 85 in red, size 50 with a headset and Bb, Vitus tubing, vgc especially the paint and chrome forks...

  • Here's the Bottechia on this thread I just put up: http://www.lfgss.com/thread63631.html

It's actually the Columbus SLX version so it's higher in price due it being a much higher-end model.

  • Did you sort a 51cm frame? I've got one in very nice condition if you are interested.

  • I havent, as most of the offers are a bit high end.. What have you sir?

  • Hey. I have a Bianchi Sprint on ebay at the moment. I know its ebay and that ebay is smelly rubbish but have a look and consider it!? Its 54 centre to top but, 50 centre to centre. Id say about the right size and its pretty cool! Celeste is cool! Item number: 180657389135

  • On my watch list, cheers .

  • I have an Orbit America

50cm C t T seat tube and 54 C to C top tube. It came with 7 or an 8 cm stem. I ve ridden it with a 10 cm. I think it might handle better with a shorter one.

Hilary had one for sale @ £160, i think, I can do this for less . It would include a head set and I ve some 38cm bars which might come in useful.

Do let me know and I ll send some pictures
