You coming down to help us run the open meet then Mike?
-

Good stuff. Still waiting to hear about bike storage tho... Will make riding the league a lot easier.

I really enjoyed the league last year, but sadly it clashes with my plans to race the Hog Hill summer series. I'll ride the first few before that starts up though.

I'm planning on popping my league cherry this year!
I doubt I'll be able to make it every week due to work commitments though.... Hope to be able to make at least three a month. When do Monday nights start?

Probably not I'm too moody. If I can't race I don't want to be there.
Kind of like when I lose at poker, I usually throw my chips at the person and storm out the pub, even if they are my best mate. I can't handle it -

you should take up fishing mike. you get to sit in the same place as the last time that you didn't catch anything, it could be cathartic in a confronting your demons kind of way.
plus shimano make all the gear too. -

If you get the chance to make it down a few times I'm sure it would be very appreciated Mike.
I rode the track for the first time today, despite already going down to the track at least 15 times this year so far helping out with other sessions and sorting stuff out.
Likewise anyone else, a lot of noise is being made about giving money in order to save the velodrome, but a couple of hours actually doing something pro-active onsite would have a much more direct impact (IMHO).

if you are in a road club it's expected that you do 2 events a year where you do the organising/marshaling.
that doesn't seem like a bad deal to me considering what you get in return. -
• #13
I know this has been discussed before but cant be bothered to search, and anyway it might have changed...
Im about to renew my BCF membership, is bronze race enough for the league and open events without having to buy a full race licence? It includes prov licence right?
-

I think you need silver at least for the open events.
I have Bronze, and need to upgrade to silver for the league & opens I think.
JC's the man in the know, but he's got alot on a t the moment, so I dont think he's on here too much. -

i think that you need silver to have the day's equivalent to a racing license, for the track league

Uh oh.....2 days.

Will there be a programme for each night available in advance, online anywhere??
-

Will there be a programme for each night available in advance, online anywhere??
Would someone like to do it?
Standard programme for the first 2 weeks, bunch races and handicap sprints.

I suppose it gets discussed on here a fair bit.
Just thinking about the surprise specialist races that may happen; track stand/skid comp which will take extra training.
-
• #21
I got there early on Monday and had a few flying laps clock-wise. It felt very odd.
What night are we racing the wrong way?
-
• #22
I can track stand, but I cant go very far backwards.
-
• #23
You only need to go in circles to be uber-cool, a-la fixie trick crews.
-
• #24
Whos coming tonight?
If its getting re-surfaced in May this may be the only one I can do for ages! -
• #25
Is the skid competition the week before the track resurfacing!?
I can't make tonight unfortunately, hopefully be there next week though
The first round is 1 month today! Is everyone ready?
