I have the V12 with the pins and I use the Re-Strap straps not much different to the Holdfasts. You don't need to remove the pins unless you like me find them annoying sometimes, in which case you need to use a 2mm Allen Key to remove them.
Google is your friend - 'dmr v8 removing pins'
You'll need a 2mm Allen key to fit them.
It is ironic that DMR call them terror pins!

yeah, i know that the ones with the allan key heads could be removed, i bought them thinking i could unscrew them all but there are 6 pins per pedal which are pressed in/part of the cage itself.

Mole grips and twist on the fixed pins will remove them ,they are only inserted about 4-5mm

A good soaking with WD-40 usually helps.

Great, thats done it but i have filed most of them down to too small to get a grip now!
So im bored of filing away the pins on my new V8s. Any one had any luck in pulling the damn things out/removing them another way?
On a similar note, does anyone have any thoughts on whether i really have to remove the pins to use them with holdfast style velcro straps?
Cheers
