Price drop to £300 as I realised it's a little strong for this time of year.

has this still not sold? I am surprised

Wish I had the storage space, because that is the perfect tandem for Mr and Mrs ShannonBall.
-
• #8
Store it upright in the corner of a room. It works if they're high enough ceilings. Tandem towers is lucky in that I can fit 2.
If anyone is unsure about storage I'll measure it up, but tbh I'm almost out of my financial black hole so if it doesn't sell this week I'll hang on to it.
Lady Liz has decreed I am allowed to keep the Bertin if I put some hooks up so space is no longer a premium either. -

Would you split or trade?
In need of a the rear mafac cantilever breaks for my Rene Herse tandem.
Currently has a pair of suntours that look ok, but they are too new.
I'm also interested in the stem/seatpost.
Let me know in a pm, if you are interested.

Want to split?
Edit: if so, dibs on stem/seatpen of first driver (middle one) pending price -
• #13
Dibs the downtube.
-

No splitsies I'm afraid.
It's ready to ride and I'd hate to see it broken up.
I have a cinelli stoker stem on ebay though, finishing tomorrow. (shameless plug, sorry).
See tweed run photos for it being expertly captained by veLLo and his good lady. -

Downtube is yours cheese but only if you buy the bar tape and vavle caps as well. (there are no valve caps)

I bought this from Ed back in August 2011, unfortunately it pains me to say that it's back up for sale now as I've just broken up with my girlfriend. It is in identical condition to the above pictures, the 'issues' of pedal thread and rear brake mount are still there, but posed no problems to me at all and have no got any worse. I spend alot of time working away/abroad so in the time I owned it it's only seen about 50/60 summer miles so everything is still spot on.
It's in Cambridge, can deliver to London for petrol money or anyone is welcome to collect if you have a van- or if you're brave it's perfectly capable of being ridden away as is.
£280 ono

Bump-o-rama.
This tandem is the tits. Wish I'd never sold it in the first place. Can't afford to buy it back. The 'issues' really aren't issues at all. It'll bang along all day faster than anyone else you're riding with without a grumble or squeak. -

The Peugeot was attracting a lot of attention, from randomers because it was a tandem, and from bike enthousiasts for being a such a nice machine... The full set of stronglight 49D crankset is totally porn!
That great first experience with the Peugeot was contagious to the point I finally bought a tandem with another forumer (Serk) 2 weeks ago , we hope to be able to do the next tweed run with it and are currently refurbishing it...Good luck with the sale!

Totally gutted to be selling it, and wish it got more use than it has... I'm selling all but one of my bikes as I'm temporarily moving back to my parents- so will have 4 completes and some frames/bits in the next few days. Will start a new thread when everything has been photographed etc. etc.

BUMP- £280 DELIVERED if you live vaguely en route between Cambridge and the Isle of Wight.... including anywhere in London
Due to epic financial difficulties at the moment I have decided to sell my beloved tandem in the hope that another will enjoy it as much as I have. Looking for £300.
Some forum history having completed 16 laps of the mighty swaintoux along with a few other forum rides. Goes like the fucking clappers and rides like a dream.
Ready to ride away today.

Details:
ST measurement - 53cm(centre to top) for the captain, 51cm(ctt) for the stoker
Top tube measurement - 56cm(ctc) for captain, and 58cm for the stoker.
With the posts and stems as currently fitted it's spot on for me at 5'10 with a 30" leg and 5'2-5'8 ish on the back although a longer post and change of bars will increase the range somewhat.
Paint is in somewhat shabby order with a few rust spots showing through but nothing awful, og tandem club sticker is quite cool. The frame also appears to have been repaired in the past(front seat/top tube join) and the drive side dropout. Neither of these affect the ride in any way that I have noticed but I am no expert so couldn't possibly vouch for the work.
Bosses for racks, mudguards, dynamos and pump.
Full Stronglight 49d chainsets(french pedal threads, can be chased to english by machine shop), Suntour derailleurs with wide range cassette(swaintoux proof), Mafac cantilevers and Arai drumbrake operated by friction lever on stem(better than double pull levers), Atax stoker stem, cheap rear saddle, selle front. North road style bars on the back and Kronos drops on the front. Daft stem gives a stable and comfy ride for long distances.
The following parts were fitted last year when I got the tandem:
All cables and outers
Drive and timing chains
Brake blocks
Panracer Pasela tyres
Brake levers(nos Formos)
Toeclips and straps
Bartape
Rusty steel handlebars replaced with alloy Kronos jobs
At this time all bearings were regreased.
The bad:
One of the pedals has blown and has some play, still ridable though, would have repacked but pedal is non-servicable.
Rear canti stud has a little play - tiny spot weld or failing that epoxy will sort it out.
Drum brake could use new shoes as it's a bit nosy, still works perfectly well though.
