Wanted: Parts for Dave Marsh project

Posted on
  • Morning all,
So, I'm currently trying to build up a late 80's Dave Marsh road bike bought from forum member, pullingteth.
Although I'm trying to get it back to the right period, I'm not being too anal about it. All Campagnolo if possible though.
I thought it could be cool so see how many of the parts I could score off the forum as so far I've only bought a Rolls saddle new/not from the forum.
    Here it is, currently dumped in my room;

One thing which i think might be tough to get hold of is one of these pins (see below) from what I think is a Campag Athena caliper which has gone missing. If anyone's got one, amazing..

The rims wrapped up (in the first picture) are Campagnolo Omega. They're 32h so if anyone's got some suitable hubs, that'd be great. Rear cassette, even better.

Also looking for a 27.2 seatpost, Cinelli 1" stem and bars, pedals etc. etc.

    All recommendations and offers welcome!

    Thanks,

    Tom.

  • Got a set of sprint wheels with a combination of Mavic front hub and Royce rar and has a 7 speed Regina Extra freewheel [12-17] the rims are Mavic GEL 280..[£40].....or you could have just the hubs [32 hole] and freewheel for £25....in both cases plus postage.

  • I've got a Campag Athena rear mech and Campag aero seatpost £50 posted for both.

I've also got some Campag 8 speed Cassette wheels (Mavic rims) up for sale. Think they're 36 hole though and I'm not looking to split at the moment.

  • Oh and I think Hilary Stone has one of them adjusters (or may have seen it on Ebay)

  • Awesome response, chaps. PM's coming! Thanks

  • So, Tel has hooked me up with wheels, seatpost (which I hope to god is the right size) and rear mech. Bars, stem and brakes/shifters are the next obvious things. Think I'm going to do convertor shifters instead of friction.
Anyone have anything that they think I might be interested in?

  • i've got some dave marsh branded sprint rims (or wheels is you wanted me to build them.)

plus old frame i could pull decals off..

    pm if interested

  • Sorry number6, they sound quality but I'm in need of neither.

Still looking for that Cinelli stem and bar combination..

  • Get some ergos instead of downtube shifters, Tom, bit more pricey but you won't regret it...

  • Cheers for the advice, Joe!

I am currently in need of some Campag Aero (Chorus?) toeclips.
I hadn't seen pedals like this before but got given them free (need a real clean up) but whether I use them depends on whether I can get my hands on the clips with the correct fitting. They look like this:

Also, still looking for a Campagnolo front mech (that attaches to the frame itself) and as mentioned in TS's post, if anyone has any early ergolevers that would also be much appreciated!

    Thanks

  • bumpday

  • I have a centaur front mech, double, braze on. not early, but pretty shiny.

  • Still looking for that cinelli ?
Got a black cinelli stem almost perfect condition mounted to cinelli bar (if i'm not mistaking) with the bartape on and some shimano levers( but can remove these) in case you need some campa humbs with cassette still i've got some laying about as well mounted to some rims :)

  • Now looking for the following and final part:
A pair of decent Cinelli drops.
Please tell me someone's got some, because otherwise I'm going to continually rue the day I sold the ones in my office to a fellow forumenger at bargain price.
    Much appreciated,
    T.

  • i got some cinelli criterium 65-40 with grooves for the aero cables in really good condition for £25.

  • forgot to tell you that I have one of those adjuster things for the athena brake.

  • I've got some pretty scratched Cinelli Del Mondo bars if you want.

  • Brake and bars are now sorted, thanks chaps.

It's basically finished besides putting the thing together.

Will post a picture when it's done!

  • Let me know when it's done ! Want to see the beast !
