Crap Towns

Just rocked up in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Fuck me, what a dive.

It seems that at some point they've ripped out it's heart and replaced it with retail, like so many of our towns. Barely any apparent civility. Sad.

Most M25 boarder towns are pretty bad, just inside and outside. e.g. Bexly crap.

In fact in the UK it's more likely that a town will be crap than not, even expensive places like Guildford. Crap. We seem to have a talent for making crap places and making places crap.

Got the shit kicked out of me in Harlow, for wearing the wrong clothes, or having the wrong hair, or something. Me, about 14; them, numbering half a dozen or so, all a bit older; too old to be picking on 'weird' 14-year-olds. Not content with leaving me lying on the ground groaning, they returned before I'd tried to get up, carrying an uprooted 'For Sale' sign, and spent a little longer whacking me with it.

I sometimes ride through there, on the way out to NW Essex TT courses; early; quickly. The railway station has just had a new carpark built, so it's probably a good time to invest in property there, and live the fucking dream.

Northampton, Mansfield, derby, Telford. Just a few more suggestions. Give me a minute and I'll think of some more.
