From what I know, they are interchangeable as long as you don't change them more than once. Will have to check Sheldon to be sure.

Actually, I have a proposal. We have a old but not grumpy technician at uni who knows maybe not as much as Sheldon but he knows enough. Can I dibs now and comfirm with you tomorrow as soon as I have a chance to speak to him? Will be able to get back to you probably after lunch.

Italian threaded and ISO threaded headsets are interchangable, as long as you don't make a habit of switching in between the two more than once. They're threaded at a slightly different pitch I think (55 vs 60 degrees?) so once you choose one you should stick with it.
