• I have one spare ticket to the PJ Harvey Gig tomorrow night (28th). If anyone would like it they can have it for £30 (that's its cover price - i'll make a loss on the booking fee).

It's a ground floor standing ticket. The gig is at Troxy, East London (near Limehouse station). Doors open 7pm.

Swapping mobile numbers via PM and meeting to trade somewhere near the venue is probably easiest, but i might be persuaded to deliver somewhere central-ish or west-ish during the day if we can arrange it quickly enough.

  • ah, Troxy is fucking ace place.

I neeed to get into P.J Harvey,
cant go to this Moth, but what albums would you say to get into and in what order/
    particularly if theres woodwinds involved.?

  • Ouch!

She was ace on the NME awards.

    Dancehall At Louse Point
    To Bring You My Love
    ...then the rest.

  • dibs, PM coming :)

  • If heavisides pulls out let me know.
Let england shake is outstanding, but i'm sure you are aware.
    cheers

  • yeah thanks fruitpastille- going there.

  • She got my attention with a vocal on Tricky's track Broken Homes, and I bought her most recent album of the time which was Is This Desire? - that's still my favourite, but is not particularly typical of her work (if anything is - she changes quite a lot from one album to the next).

Don't think woodwind features much in her work. Mostly she's been guitar based, with quite a bright sound. Exceptions being Is This Desire? which has a smoother and richer sound, and White Chalk which is piano based.

Hard to know what to recommend without knowing what you like as there's something i value about all her albums and they are all different. Uh Huh Her has perhaps done least for me so far, and I haven't got the new one yet.

  • my pleasure

  • I think this is my favorite track:

    (sorry for the hijack)

  • Quickest delivery ever! thanks again :)

  • yup, sold. exchanged. thanks.

That is a breathtaking track Jambon - often hard to remember she is performing.
