  • The plus side is that as it's been featured in the Daily Fail, we can state as fact that the inverse of their claims are true.

  • Do people still buy or even read the Daily Fail!!! I feel a strongly worded letter to the editor coming on.... kinda looks like they had a spare page to fill, lazy journalism of the highest order IMHO.

  • Overall air pollution triggered between 5 per cent and 7 per cent of heart attacks, while drinking alcohol or coffee accounted for 5 per cent.
Awesome news ! I'll get myself a face mask and head straight to my local boozer.

  • are subjecting themselves to another major heart attack trigger, excersise

    Pass the remote luv..

  • This is a repost from somewhere.

  • Hang on, so if I don't exercise, drink coffee or breath I'm death proof?

  • This is a repost from somewhere.

    In the news yesterday

  • Also, you know that every time the Daily Fail posts an article like this, it goes viral amongst the community they've offended, we then all click the link, they get the advertising revenue.

I strongly suspect that if everyone stops visiting their website their entire business model will fail and it'll cease to be published....

    I can dream right?

  • Shall I or shant I read that. That's the question.
Is it likely to put me in a bad mood on this finest of mornings?

  • Damned if you do damned if you don't situation. Well done to Boris though lowering the surface population with his part time death machines.

The Daily Mail and Daily Express are popular UK tabloid newspapers:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Express
When using the internet in the UK it's almost impossible to avoid occasionally accessing the website of one or the other, even if one finds their political and social outlook unpleasant or offensive.

KittenBlock is designed to solve this problem. It performs one simple function: if the browser is directed to either website it will be redirected instead to a selection of photos from http://www.teaandkittens.co.uk.

    Enjoy :-)

  • Unfortunately - as shit as the Daily Mail is, they are covering an issue that is actually worth taking note of. If, like me, you ride around or through a congested city, you need to make sure that you saturate your body with those kick ass antioxidants, or recovery is a bitch.

  • So by my reading at least 93% of heart attacks are not caused by cycling to work..?

  • Surely the only solution is to take all the polluting vehicles off the road.

  • i've just re read the article, and are we sure it is actually from the Daily Fail, as not once could i find a reference to Diana, being the savour, and the Nazi's being the cause of cycling and heart attacks!!

  • Hang on, so if I don't exercise, drink coffee or breath I'm death proof?

We just expect you'll choke to death.

Daily Fail doesn't surprise anymore. Next.

  • cycling is the devil!

  • that is too funny

  • there is no doubt that living in london has health issues.. pistaboy is right, arm yourselves naturally with a good sensible diet to combat against pollution and stress. if you are worried about your heart go see your GP, get a HR monitor and ride within safe limits / peace of mind, or reduce the amount of commuting on the bike. it's not a race for ffs enjoy cycling while you can, but ride safe, i'm no expert in health btw

but i would prefer that we live in a country where we have free press and other points of view. in fact we buy the daily fail occasionally, not because i enjoy reading it, but because i prefer to know what is being said. alot of it is frankly nonsense, scaremongering, intolerent rubbish. much prefer to read local news with real issues that affect me tbh

I like to mix blueberries/strawberries/pomegranate and green tea with my cycling and cocaine abuse I find all three balance each other out nicely

unfortunately over 2 million copies are still sold, per day. Be sure to scowl at the next person you see reading one, or at least judge them quietly.

  • Apologies for the repost - I did UTFS, honest.

What I noticed about the article was that the summary paragraph was the opposite of the headline.
More high quality 'journalism' there then.

  • .. and I hate the daily mail!

Some sort of balance there, the comments are hilarious tho!

  • I think the Daily Mail just has an agenda of winding people up - perhaps they are very adept cultural satirists and we are all too hip to see it?
