For slim (not skinny) sub-£100 denim, this is the biggest bargain out there right now. I'm kind of wary of giving it up tbh but I've got as many pairs as I need:

For skinny (not slim) denim, the Uniqlo stuff smashes it. It's thinner denim, but you can pick it up for £30 and the fit is nice.
I don't even bother with the PRS and the Sugar Cane and the Imperial and the like - beautiful jeans, esp Imperial, but I can't stand that retro cut.

I've got two pairs of English cut APCs... Nice and roomy cut, if anything a bit farm hand but still look great... I'm about to dye them black...

You can't go wrong with Edwins and the Uniqlo are fantastic for the money, can't comment on the fit of the Uniqlo tho'...

APC are shite.
Anything from this lot:
•Rising Sun & Co
•Wrangler
•RRG
• LVC (1955) 501
• EdwinUniqlo are good for looks, honeslty= they're shite.
I've gone through 2 pairs of "selvage" jeans from Uniqlo in 1 year. -

Also, don't believe anything Pisti writes.

'DENIME' from Japan are ace but dunno who does them in the UK anymore, 'American Classics' and 'Interstate' used to
-

LVC = shite
If I'm honest, I'd go Japanese boutique... ^ Denime is OK but since Levi's made them get rid of the tab they're not as nice... Red tab > Blue tab > Stitched blue false tab... Very nice thick denim BITD, haven't seen them for years...
Studio D'Artisan is amazing, Sugar Cane/Buzz Rickson's also fantastic... Also have a gorgeous Joe McCoy Type 2 which is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, lovely denim...

Only good denim comes from Japan, they've adquired all the good lasting machinery from American factories, taken them to Nipponland and started re-producing 'original' 14oz denim.
That's the main difference.
Uniqlo's denim is like 11-12oz denim, which can't take anything, it's like wool trousers.
To have lifetime lasting jeans you need to go for anything likr 14oz denim = Edwin, LVC, RRG, etc...
They're stiff as f**k, but will worn in very well.
Also never buy any type of 'washed" or "rinsed"... always original indigo. -

Studio D'Artisan is amazing, Sugar Cane/Buzz Rickson's also fantastic...
True.
-

But Buzz's good for cotton JeanStain.
I'd pay the 150gn for those heather grey jumper. -
• #22
Studio D'Artisan is a bit 'Evisu' for my taste, leaving Sugar Cane rocking the fucking show.
Right now there's vintage chambray shirts on the bay for a song - SC. -

I only deal in FACTS!

The stitching on my Buzz's rotted... Weird...
Probably cuz I wore them for three years without washing them... :S
Studio D'Artisan is quality, dude... I got married in a pair and a sample blanket-lined Denime type 1 jacket... Sweet...
Pistanator proved me wrong the leather shoes thread about Levi's jeans, so when my current acne jeans gives up I'm gonna get a pair of proper selvedge jeans
This is my starting point
http://www.eleven-shop.co.uk/collection/mens/levis-vintage/levis-vintage-1947-501-deadstock-dry-jean-indigo
Ideally I'd like something slimmer, but not skin tight. Where next?
