-
• #6
Change it. You will be faster. No question.

• #7
Put another 6,437,376 metres on it. Stop being so fucking wasteful.

Do you do much skidding on it?
Ive heard skidding stretches the chain faster...

Heh. Actually skidding would wear the chain less quickly as the chain gets worn when it turns round the chainring and sprocket, so if the drivetrain's not moving the chain won't get worn..

Just replace the fecker.
And make some tasteful but cycling orientated jewelery out of the old one.

Some of those miles were purely visualised.

:-)
So, I have a nice Izumi ESH or Super V (can't remember which) on my track bike, that has been on there for 2 years and about 1000 miles (I know, but I didn't do much last year).
It is pretty dry and needs at least a clean and lube, but I'm wondering if it is just worth chucking a new one on?
I have heard on the 'Other forum' talk of changing track chains yearly as a matter of course, and given the cost of the Zen rings I use, I'm tempted to just change it.
Thoughts?
