Just reading about this on Twitter. Sounds horrific. Thoughts with her :(

It's been reported that it was a bus involved in the collision

Oh shit. Please be ok...

Reports on twitter says the cyclist is in 'a very serious condition'. Fingers crossed for her.

Think I rode past this this morning, couldn't see for traffic though. Hope she's OK.

Apparently it was bike v's lorry and although she's in a serious way, it's not life threatening. Not sure how reliable my source is though.

Jeez, this year really isn't starting off well at all.
Hopes for fast recovery.

I cycled past this within a couple of minutes (I'd say) of it happening - paramedics had only just arrived and the road hadn't been shut yet. It looked so awful (even though I didn't look directly) that it made me cry. There were two buses pulled over (the police were using them as columns as they were in the process of taping shut the road), but there was also a long truck with scaffolding poles on it pulled over - the mangled bike was right by this - so could have been either. I didn't look at the cyclist, but there were paramedics everywhere, and it sounded like they were using a defibrillator(?) - not a good sign. Awful, awful. My thoughts are with the cyclist.

So many rider down reports today. This one sounds the most serious by far. :(

I hope the IG is right, and it is less serious than it seemed to me. I really hope she is recovering well. I've been feeling pretty shaky all day as the outlook appeared so grim (not that feet injuries aren't bad), so this has been a piece of good news.

Not really necessary, in my opinion.

I"m wondering why the vast majority of your posts are in the rider down section.
I'm also wondering if you're that journo who uses the forum for her journalism pieces.
I'm thinking this would be better discussed somewhere else.

Not a journalist, no, but a writer of sorts. And also a campaigner. As a London cyclist, I am particularly concerned with the high number of accidents. I'd like to see better facilities for cyclists in London, and across the UK. Anything wrong with that?

Obviously there's nothing wrong with that.

Good! Now can we quit with the suspicion please? :-)

You'll forgive people's bristling, I hope - we recently had a rather unpleasant hack on another rider down thread - as you may gather.
Horrible to see a bike pringled like that. Escaping that with leg injuries might be considered lucky. I hope that the rider recovers soon!
Rode past what looked like bus / cyclist contact this morning @ Baldwin street / City Road junction.
The bike was in poor shape, and as I rode past the girl was prone and being looked after by paramedics...
No way to tell if she will pull through - let's hope she's OK :(
