Merged because dupe threads are still dupes even when on topic in both forums.

This topic was too serious for ladies' forum which should be kept lighthearted. And the end of the day, it's about politics, not puppies, little children and knitting patterns.

Rules are rules and without rules what would we have?

This sounds like something I'd like to see, but Manchester is a bit of a trek. Hmm.

PS. Dov you really love baiting the lefties doncha.
Pps. weirdly when I type 'lefties' in my phone, it tries to make it say 'lecture'... Spooky.

Mf To misquote HG Wells: 'When I see a fixed-drivetrain focussed interweb forum used to publicise anarchist seminars, I have hope for humanity'

"There appears, on some level, to be a bicycle revolution, but are anarchists invited?"
surely the beauty of the bicycle is that you don't need an invite you just ride?

"There appears, on some level, to be a bicycle revolution, but are anarchists invited?"
surely the beauty of anarchism is that you don't need an invite you just turn up?
Yes, that.

I like the idea of invitations for anarchist movements. They'd be embossed and a little glitter would fall out of the envelope when you opened it.
-
• #17
Yes, that.
then why do you need to use the interweb* to confirm your attendance?
*you know that communication thing owned by bill gates and steve jobs that you pay a monthly subscription for.

To whit: Since when have anarchists needed an invitation to anything? Would they go if they were invited? And what would they wear?
-
• #19
this sounds suspiciously like the agenda to my last club meeting, except we didn't need a political framework to justify it!
that said, I always liked the sound of the old / still going vegan and vegetarian bike club (though I wouldn't like to be riding close behind that wheel)

Or badly-spelled graffiti.
-
• #21
Ahh, and there was me thinking it'd be written on a housebrick and carefully tossed through your front window.
I must be thinking of some other anarchists.
That would be the Kindred of the Kibbo Kith.

that's what anarchy is - fucking shit up, doing what you want and wearing what you want.
(aimed at entire thread, not anyone in particular) -

While I accept that serving vegan food caters for just about everyone, why is being vegan seemingly a sine qua non for being an anarchist? Why does a political movement that encompasses and occasionally encourages, political assassination not accept the slaughter of animals for sustenance?

That would be the Kindred of the Kibbo Kith.
Never thought I'd hear of them on here ... Blue Skies.

Does it really need spelling out?
Vegan = nonviolent against innocent.
Anarchist = nonviolent against innocent. Assasinating the ruling class is fine.Veganism and anarchism can coincide in a person's actions and they're in no way mutally exclusive. I imagine.
Btw, Veganism turns into Befallen on my phone.
