i have the tools and knowhow to remove/fit a bb and chain, but i do not however have anything to re-thread
on a lot of BBs the left cup does stick out a little bit. what BB do you have?

and does it run smooth/have you actually ridden on it? it might be correct

its sticking out by about 5mm and its just a shimano 68mm cartridge, un54 i think. the cranks do spin smoothly enough i guess its just a visual thing. havent ridden it just yet.

If the 5mm is consistent all the way around, it's not cross threaded.

yyyyup the UN54 sticks out on the left side. Grey cup yea?
plus what DBR said ^
and is the chain new/do you still have the split link?

Brixton cycles will check it for nothing and if necessary remove it and re thread it cheaply.

If it's a complete and utter total Armageddon of a disaster, Argos in Bristol will run their machine through the BB and then line it with aluminium...
Hi Guys,
basically a friend fitted my bb for me and the LH cup is still sticking out a few mm so i think its cross threaded, unfortunately i dont have any tools or technical know how to get the crank arm off and re thread the cup and i wondered if anyone in brixton might be able to help??
and then also need to fit a new chain on it so anyone with a chain tool would be excellent?
will repay with beers or some dollar if wanted!
cheers
Gerard
