Cheers. I'll suggest it, can see him liking it actually, especially the fact it's low key as well. Could be perfect.

+1 for the Smoke.
The 26" was a bit under geared, as it kept a MTB chainset, but the switch to 700c should have sorted that a bit.

Thanks guys, emailed my dad a link for the smoke last night, he's just ordered one said it looked perfect. He's a fan of steel and the smoke looks pretty solid. Hopefully he'll see another 16 years of use out of it, and it should be happy pulling his logging too.

http://www.lfgss.com/album.php?albumid=1526 all repaired now, but too late...............
Basically my dad needs a new bike for getting to work and other duties after his front wheel folded on his trusted old bike (breaking 2 ribs, either side) making him no longer trust it.
So he's after something fairly modern with mudguards, slick tyres but not too skinny (would say min about 35c/1.5in) needs to be robust (he still hops curbs), have gears, be in decent nick, if 700c wheels then looking at a frame around 56, if it's more MTB flavoured then around 19 inch? or a large.
Budget £150-200
We are in Leeds, but I am in London quite frequently, or we could arrange courier.
Let me know if you have anything suitable.
