Messiaen- now your talking, some out there stuff in his repertoire,
I play flute and love it,
I dig Villa- lobos
Debussy, Dusapain, Jolivet, Varese, Roussel, Faure
and there isnt anything wrong with a good bit of Bach in the morning,
actually , in the evening either Gonna get the Brandenberg #3 on now--jazz yeah! -

nice. i have no clue to classical music all above posts listened to and are very nice esp like shostakovich no 8 c minor one intense!!! i started work he other day at 4:30 am and was scanning threough the radio it was all rubbish then ended up on radio 3, it fitted forthat time and helped me through till 11 am..nice

I've all of a sudden got a lot more enthusiastic about this forum, maybe even moving to that London even.
Was listening to desert island discs last night: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00y203s/Desert_Island_Discs_30_01_2011/
and got me thinking there was no specific classical music thread, I really don't have much depth in my knowledge of classical music, but whenever people have recommended pieces to me in the past I have usually really enjoyed them. Thought this might be a good way of people to impart the knowledge of classical music, as I know there is a few classical musicians knocking about.
