For Sale: Mavic 500 track rear hub 36hole Rare

  • Here i am selling a mavic 500 track hub for £30, its a rear hub 36 holed, i am open to new offers so just message me. It is a beautiful hub which runs very smooth, SEALED bearings, i think its stainless steel either that or polished alloy but its got a solid weight to it good quality,.... screwed to the side of the hub it has a dicta freewheel which im more than sure can be taken off with the correct tool when you want the hub laced to a rim, i think its 1996 but could be earlier, its a rare hub, no visible spoke stress, eventhough the pics do show a bit of cosmetic damage of the centre of the hub, takes quick release skewers, get back to me if you have any questions or offers thanks !

  • I'm not sure making multiple threads and suffixing them with "rare fixie racer" is going to go down too well....

    Just saying.

And one thread can be used to sell more than one item

  • " RARE fixie racer"

    Ebay>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • That's a road hub.

  • but it says rare fixie racer, so must be true!

  • quick release?? hmmmmm......

  • it takes a skewer through it, no nuts on the ends !

  • I must stress, £30 PLUS POSTAGE AS WELL i forgot to put that in the ADVERT !!!

  • remember the AD does say ono
at the end of the day its a better BARGAIN thn the shit they sell down HALFORDS, its a lovely hub but the reason im selling is cos miche was more for me !

  • I'm assuming the severe damage on both the non-drive side bearing housing and centre barrel was done by the twat who put it in a vice to hold the hub while trying to remove the freewheel, presumably the same twat who forgot to take the freewheel off before cutting the spokes to dismantle the wheel.

FYI, anybody who wants a hub with that spec (36h, for screw on multiple freewheel) can get a brand new Suntour Superbe Pro from SJSC for £46, which is arguably a better hub to start with.

I don't know what else you're flogging, but so far I've seen 3 for sale threads by you trying to charge money for stuff whose quality and condition would place it squarely in the freecycle category from any reputable member of this community.

  • 1996? This hub is almost 40 years old. And it was designed to take a cassette.
