For Sale: OT - Snowboard K2 Zepplin 164cm £120

  • I have a K2 Zepplin for sale - one of the best all mountain freestyle boards ever made. It's in good condition overall but has seen some use, with a few scratches and marks from lift queues and such. The edges and base are in really good condition and have always been waxed/tuned before and after every trip. Looking for** £100**
    It's this model -

  • Cor - thats big!

  • nice looking board Gav.

  • very nice

what year was this made? do you know what core it has (wood or carbon)? What rider weight was it made for?

  • Cor - thats big!

Ahem, that's what they all say..

It's a wood core, good medium stiffness with heaps of pop. It ollies like a champ and would suit someone between 6' and 6'4 and 75kg + Bought 2006/2007 season

I'm only selling it as I want one of the new K2 Slayblades

  • Hey, very interested in this - does it come with bindings attached, or are you keeping them?

  • arrggghhh tempting, let me have a think, my custom board is getting old...

Are the rails all the way round or do they end at nose/tail?

    sorry for all these questions

  • Ask him questions,

    He likes questions.

  • ^Hoser

No bindings, although could maybe sell them with it if the price is right - Burton Cartels.

The steel edges go all the way around and the sides are made with the proper sidewall construction, not just capped.

  • ok pretty much exactly what i want apart from the length, i will have a chat with the gf if boarding in march will work out and then get back to you. no need for bindings i have my ancient flows.

  • I've just bought a new palmer or I'd be all over this.....

  • Still available...

  • instead of a slayblade look at a turbo dream... I test rode both and bought the turbo dream (even though I really preferred the look of the slayblade) all I can say is that the turbo dream is a complete hoot, whether you're on powder, piste or park. It's directional with a set back stance but still rides switch fine.... just ace.

  • I'm not sure about the rocker on that one actually. The last board with rocker I rode nearly killed me at speed....not good. I want something that can be jibbed around on but also that can really fly as well.

  • It has almost the same profile as the slayblade - its not totally rockered, it's flat in the middle and rockered at nose and tail. The slayblade is too stiff, trying to butter it took alot of effort. I ride really fast, and didn't have any problems with the turbo dream biting or becoming unstable. It was happy to straightline down everything. After riding it I would've bought the slayblade if guarenteed amazing powder everyday, but as I don't live in canada and am only doing a few weeks this winter went for the turbo dream which is fun everywhere. Oh yeah, but when you get the TD into powder, it literally flies, couldn't believe it.

  • Mmmm. I was all set on the blade and now you've opened a can of worms.

How big are you? I could jib about on my Zeplin which is a pretty stiff board without too much effort and really liked that stiff snap when coming off the top of stuff. Just worried that the Dream will become a noodle after a little while...

  • Should clarify the buddies I go with are skiers and ex guides so speed is of the essence unless I want to ride alone...

  • 6'2 , nudging 18 stone at the minute.

Seriously, I rode the turbo dream, slayblade and a few other boards. The turbo dream was the best on the test ride, then when I got it on the mountain I couldn't believe how good it was.

I ride with skiiers as well, and often over take them on the straights. The slayblade felt stiff and solid like it would just plow through anything in its way. But it was really stiff... I mean, the TD is classed as fairly stiff and the slayblade felt 2 or 3 x stiffer.

Also, the TD being directional, it's stiffened more at the rear for landings, you get a real nice pop as well.

  • 6'2 , nudging 18 stone at the minute.

Ha, fucking boardsnappingly big then eh? You've done a few seasons too haven't you? I've done one in Canada as well as lots of riding in the Alps so am at a reasonable level.

Perhaps I need to rethink this blade business after all. I was so convinced until an hour ago. Fuck.

  • I was set on buying one as well, read up on the slayblade and pretty much went in to buy it, but thought might as well test ride them as well. As soon as I got on the TD I just thought this is wicked...

one of the main reasons I wanted the slay was my old board used to flex alot on landings, was a little worried the td might be a little flexy but on actually hitting some drops and the park I found it to be really solid and controlled on landings, with the rocker lifting the nose in powder so I could concentrate on picking a line and enjoying the ride rather than focusing so much on just keeping the nose up. I've got the 160 wide, which I measured at 161.

Do you not live near a snow centre where you could give each a test ride and get a better idea?

  • SW London so not much about. Can you really stretch it out in one of those centers? I've never even been in one tbh.

  • Is milton keynes far by train? you can't exactly hammer it but gives you a feel at least.

  • Price drop bump. Just booked a trip last night and need to sell this to finance a new one!
