I'd have one, probably medium or large.
-
• #3
I'd be interested – £75 is pretty much upper limit for what I'd shell out, but I'd still do it. Men's medium would do me, assuming sizing is pretty standard.
I'm assuming it complements the cap? -

I'd take one L or XL depending on fit
-
• #5
Depending on design/fit I'd definitely be interested. Men's L probably

£75 would be about the top end for me too. I'd want an XS as smalls really don't fit me, I had this conversation with the Milltag chaps at the Cycle Show and they made positive noises about introducing an XS size (as I said I'd seen their stuff and liked it but it wouldn't fit me). Don't know if they've got anywhere with this?

I would be up for one, also depending on the design & fit. ;)
I'd be in the XXL camp most likely. The XXL Rapha classic jersey fits me well.

So I have a Milltag jersey already, which I do really like (and actually am wearing atm so if you want to see one be at Rollas tonight).
I would disagree about the focus on quality, they are nice but nothing special warranting 75quid. That said, the thing that's nice about them is the limited availability of the designs.
Because I'm a sucker for the forum, I'd probably take one at full price, however 50 is much more reasonable if we're doing a large (ie: 100+) sort of run, rather than the usual 30 that are made.
So even after that, count me in for an Mens L, guessing it's the same slim fit they currently use.

...still waiting for my hat.
/fat bastard size please.

• #10
One that covers my male-flab, I'd have that. Probably XL.
-
• #11
XXL Male. I'd take a couple provided they do not featue My Little Pony. I must say I like long zip - ideally full zip for those hot summer days when my belly needs an airing.

They do NOT feature MLP

Male, medium.

Just the two then. Would have had half a dozen with MLP.

I'd rather not have a POC design too. You know, social acceptability and all that.
If anyone wears a small Milltag jersey at the moment would you mind sharing your vital statistics? I'd interested to know if there's any hope of a small fitting me if XS isn't an option.

Bah! Was just about to derail.

• #17
MAMIL, large. What size chest are you Kirth?
-
• #18
L or XL. Probably the latter. £75's a bit steep.

I'm assuming it complements the cap? They do NOT match the cap. Well, it's not the same designer and I gave no constraints to the designer to follow any particular style... it was more a "do something that reflects the forum and you would want to wear" than a "push the forum as a brand" thing.

This is possible. They do smaller runs than we will want (at least 100 I think), so this provides the opportunity for them to get cuts right on new sizes.

Their shirts are good, but not worthy of the price I'm suggesting. My point to them was that if I bought a limited edition and cool jersey I would really want the quality to be such that it would last and fit my needs for a very long time, such that I was willing to pay more to get that kind of quality into the materials and manufacture. Milltag agree and stated that they do not do this with their own runs as they are in a price sensitive market and have to try and balance features that they want to add against market price when Milltag obviously are outlaying more on the design aspect.
So I'm only wanting a higher price in return for putting high quality and good materials back into the equation as a core thing along with the design (don't compromise one or the other, compromise the price point). I want a good jersey that not only looks good, but will last a good while in the way that we abuse things.

Well that does change things, and yes I think if it's of the quality we'd expect to withstand the forums daily use + abuse, then it would be worth the 70+ price tag.

If Ru is getting L, I will need an XL (shakes fist at skinny fuckers)
-
• #23
What specifically are the changes in quality that push the price up?
-
• #24
I like the idea that the jersey will be of exceptional quality.
It is pretty expensive, but I would like one.
Male, probably XL/XXL

MAMIL, large. What size chest are you Kirth?
About 39" or so. I find it a very comfortable fit, it does not hang like some, but it's "slim" around the gut (must cut down on the beer!)
So we're going to have some professional and very high quality cycling shirts/jerseys made. http://Milltagcc.com are producing these for us, and we're hoping to have them ready late Spring.
We do have a forumenger working on the design, someone who has worked on designs for clothing before and is in the core of the community.
It's all pretty exciting and I'm loving the stuff that I've seen so far.
The question now is: How many are we thinking of making, and what distribution of sizes should there be?
I'm keen to have a ladies fit as well as the mens, and to cater for the ladies petite as well as the mens XXL where demand exists.
Catch: These are not cheap shirts. I've told Milltag that I'm far more interested in the quality shining through than I am on cutting any corner. So the price of these may well end up being closer to £75 than the £50 that jerseys on the Milltag site are priced at.
So... what I want to know is:
I'm looking for serious numbers rather than idle interest... I realise you haven't seen the design yet (it's not quite finalised), but assuming you'd like it would you be serious about buying one?
This is just to help us start the research on things like the ladies petite cut, and the mens XXL cut, as well as vague numbers and the distribution of quantity across each size.
NOTE: Ladies sizes are based on chest size, and should match the UK blouses and women's guide on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clothing_sizes . Mens sizes are loosely based on T-shirts sizes.
Ladies should note in the thread whether they require their jersey to be "petite" and proportioned smaller (shorter) for the given UK size.
