    What do you sing while you're out riding?

    I generally sing to myself, a mix of silently to myself and out loud, occasionally at full volume but usually kind of low volume. I guess I do it as it sets a cadence or something, or is Pavlovian... I don't set out to sing, it just kind of happens.

    Songs I can't stop singing include -

    Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box (chorus only, and I don't like the band or the song but it seems to be stuck in my head EVERY time I get on a bike).
    Some song I wrote myself (years ago when I used to be a stoner) about Spanish MILFs & acid.
    Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue.
    Eek-A-Mouse - Schoolboy (also used to sing this when dancing on the spot trying to get a hitch back in my hitch-hiking days).

    No idea why they are stuck in my head, especially the Nirvana, but I'm willing to bet I sing at least one of them every single day while on the bike.

    Anyone else sing while they ride?

  • Ride of the Valkyries

  • i whistle in the shower
    usually the national anthem

  • Lady Gaga - just dance

  • I like to rap

  • Eye of the Tiger

  • Whistling - just like granddad used to do.

  • I tend to do a sort of 'sing-what-you-see' nonsense medley when I'm cycling back from the pub. 'Brompton Nodder' was a particularly catchy number which once filled the entire 10 miles back from Wests.

  • I usually sing the last song i heard ( or walking in a winter wonderland) but only ever a couple of lines and usually only swearwords as i don't often remember all the words. Always out loud, sometimes very loud. Lately its been Def Leperd's 'pour some sugar on it'. But with most of the words replaced with expletives.

  • I usually go with a vocalisation of Rage Against the Machine guitar parts.

    They go - WahDuh WahDuh Woooooow, ch'k ch'k ...

  • A lot of Biggie Smalls

  • Have been seen playing air guitar or air synth when listening to Detroit techno classics

    Skully and I hav both got a penchant for screaming "I fucking love cycling"

    Will sing along badly to what is on the headphones, so frequently making boom tchak noises of a 909

    I also do this and this

  • I used to wistle the songs that played at work. Not intentionally though, they were just imbedded in my brain.

  • Smack my bitch up.

  • Vanessa must love you!

  • Neil Diamond and ELO

    oh and a bit of Prodigy

  • When climbing I often find myself singing a modified version of this;

    Ha! I sometimes adapt The Fall's Bournemouth Runner to Fluoro Nodder. Brompton Nodder is even better.

  • Nothing, I don't do singing.

  • On climbs it tends to be Kashmir By Led Zepplin.

    On descents it's the guitar solo out from Guns 'n' Roses Paradise City.

    On the flat it's New World Order by Ministry.

  • I'm not going on any undulating rides with you Lucifer.

  • IT'S A GOOD DAY
    Peggy Lee

    Yes, it's a good day for singin' a song,
    And it's a good day for movin' along;
    Yes, it's a good day, how could anything go wrong,
    A good day from mornin' till night.

    Yes, it's a good day for shinin' your shoes,
    And it's a good day for losin' the blues;
    Ev'rything to gain and nothin' to lose,
    'Cause it's a good day from mornin' till night.

    I said to the sun, "good mornin', sun.
    Rise and shine, today"
    You know you've gotta get goin'
    If you're gonna make a showin'
    And you know you've got the right of way

    'Cause it's a good day for payin' your bills;
    And it's a good day for curin' your ills,
    So take a deep breath and throw away your pills;
    'Cause it's a good day from mornin' till night.
