CHAS ROBERTS ROAD FRAME 1996 Columbus EL
    Seat Tube (ctt): 19.25in (49cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 20.5in (52cm)
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Frame tubing: Columbus EL
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 45mm
Chas Roberts frames are consistently beautiful – this tiny road frame, about as small as you can sensibly go with 700C wheels is exquisitely fillet brazed from Columbus EL tubing. The frame is in excellent condition and the paint has only a few small marks. The cartridge bearing Shimano 600 headset feels to be in excellent condition. The vertical dropouts mean it is not ideal for singlespeed or fixed conversion. £185

    HILL SPECIAL TRACK FRAME c1950
    Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 110mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C with brake drop of 46mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted tubing
This Hill Special Track frame has been converted to road use about thirty years ago with a gear hanger (easily removed) brake cable stops, and a new rear brake bridge. It is in excellent condition and has quite close clearances for a track frame of this age. £160

PAT HANLON ROAD FRAME Reynolds 531 c1977 Really stunning
    Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 700C/sprints with brake drop of 57mm
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531SL
This is an extremely beautiful Pat Hanlon road frame built from Reynolds 531 SL tubing with the most gorgeous extremely long spearpoint lugs with elongated windows. Pat Hanlon’s frames were built by a number of builders - I am really not sure who built this one - I am reasonably certain its not Vic Edwards - it could be Tom Board... More on Pat Hanlon can be found at http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/PatHanlon.html
The paint is in near excellent condition with a few small marks a few small well touched up marks - the deep red flam still looks truly splendid. The chrome plating is excellent. The dropouts are Campag vertical reinforced on their insides - this makes it not very suitable for a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £195

    HARRY QUINN ROAD FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctc): 51.5cm (20.25in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 64mm
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Harry Quinn was one of the most respected Liverpool frame builders - many other local builders learnt their framebuilding from him. The firm was a very old established one dating back to just after the turn of the 20th century. More can be found on Harry Quinn at http://www.classicrendezvous.com/British_isles/Quinn_Harry_main.htm This road frame dates I think from around 1970 and is in very good original condition - the paint is very nice with just a few small marks. The long horizontal dropouts will make it ideal for conversion to singlespeed or fixed. £149

    STRADA ROAD FRAME 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 60mm)
This is a very tidy and pretty road frame from the 1970s built with Prugnat single point lugs and a Cinelli style fully sloping fork crown - it looks as if it might have been built in the Holdsworthy factory judging by the style. It would make a very easy fixed/singlespeed conversion £89

    PEUGEOT ROAD FRAME Reynolds 501
    Seat Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 23.4in (59.5cm)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
This Peugeot road frame from the mid to late 80s is in very sound condition and is built from Reynolds 501 tubing. The top tube has been repainted very neatly and the forks are not original. It can easily be used as a singlespeed or fixed conversion. £49

    RORY O’BRIEN ROAD FRAME c1989
    Seat Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
    Rear dropout width: 128mm
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 50mm
This Rory O’Brien road frame is in excellent virtually mint condition is built from Reynolds 531 Competition tubing; an excellent headset and BB are included. It can easily be used as a singlespeed or fixed conversion. £165

    J F WILSON ROAD FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 19.5in (50cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 20.5in (52cm)
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop 50mm
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
J F Wilson are a very old established Sheffield framebuilder - this frame according to a decal was built in their 50th year - 1998. The paint and decals are in excellent condition. It would make a very straightforward fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125

HENRY BURTON ROAD FRAME ** NEW AND UNUSED**
    Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C/sprints with brake drop of 66mm
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This new old stock road frame was built by Tom Bromwich from Coventry for the Henry Burton in Stafford. The frame is virtually unmarked despite being in storage for at least twenty years. £145

  • Very fine selection of frames indeed Hilary.
Btw, that DA seatpost was absolutely bang-on for my size - many thanks as always.
