• Some more details, including outline of route on the Worthin Excelsior website.

    http://www.worthingexcelsior.co.uk/

  • Looking at the terrain, this appears fairly flat. Is it?

  • Looking at the terrain, this appears fairly flat. Is it?

No idea. Doesn't have AA points, and I can't see a figure for elevation.

  • 1000m climbing per 100km is an 'average' Audax. Not flat (you'll definitely feel like you've had a good workout), but nothing gratuitous like the Peak District, Wales, Devon, Cornwall, etc.

  • Tentatively in for this...

  • Definitely in for this. Ideally, entries will need to have been posted by 28th January

  • Nice one Bill. I'm in, other stuff permitting.

  • ^^Ultra smooth use of the future present perfect.

  • Mudguards will need to have been fitted, and beards grown, by the day of the event.

Mudguards are NOT compulsory for this event.

(Intentional use of capitals to add emphasis.)

    I was being metaphysical.

  • Mudguards were good! Would have never thought this

  • You're old now, tika. Just accept it.

  • Pluperfect subjunctive, no?

    Conditional pluperfect subjunctive.

    wets pants

Wouldn't that have been something like, "Ideally, entries will had've needed to be posted by 28th January"?

I wasn't 100% sure of the original label, due to the extra modal :S

  •

Anyway, the pluperfect subjuncitve has no place in the English language. Not on my watch anyway.

    Old enough to know better.

  • Like me.

(nor using stative verbs in the progressive aspect, but that's a given unless you're a fucking cunt)

  • me iz forum's granny!

  • Wouldst that were true.
