They are to correct minor leg alignment issues. Search for valgus and varus.

Quite a few. I'll chuck a pair on one side.

Cheers, I've got 4 varus shims in one shoe at the moment. I'll take at least another 4 off you so I don't have to keep remembering to swap them between shoes.
