Sorry to throw this on a tangent, but how are you finding the 550D?

I've only had the chance to use it a couple of times so far. Its been fine, its basically much the same as the 400D just with a bigger LCD, more pixels and video. The button and menu layouts are a bit more intuitive, but nothing revalatory. I don't think I'll take better photos because of it. I took a load of video on the 550D at a race yesterday, but the file sizes that it kicks out are huge, so I've not figured out a sensible way of editing them yet without giving my macbook a heart attack, so can't comment on that yet.

you need mpeg streamclip (free) to down res them so they can play without jumping

Cool, thanks, will give it a go!

Really tempted by this but as I don't have a Canon DSLR already, would have to shell out for lens.
If you had a spare lens (50mm equiv would be ideal, dont need zoom) and wanted to come up with a new price I'd be interested...

The video on the 550D is sharp as hell. Really is an excellent price, especially now all us students have our loans in!

Seems to be about £20 cheaper than similar on eBay. Very fair.

I also found the user manual and strap for this last night, so I'll include those too. So in summary (and still for the bargain price of £195):

- 1 x Lexar 1GB CF card
- 1 x Canon battery
- 1 x Canon battery charger
- 1 x user manual
- 1 x camera strap
- 1 x lightly used Canon 400D body (great condition)

When I first put it up for sale in January that's exactly what I did, hence:

If someone wants to make me a sensible offer there's nothing to stop them.

yep, still for sale!
I bought a 550D recently so my 400D is for sale now. Its a couple of years old but very lightly used, and has never thrown up any errors. There's no scratches or marks on it at all, really is in excellent condition. Its body only, but includes a Lexar 1GB CF card, Canon battery and Canon charger. Can do collection from Herne Hill, Holborn or South Beers (sorry no posting). £130.
