If it's anything like B'ham (and I imagine it is) then it's really slushy on the main roads, bumpy frozen compacted snow on the side roads and about 100 - 150mm deep fluffy powder on unused paths/tracks.
Country roads are probably a mix of all three.
You'd be ok, plenty of people are cycling, just need mudguards for the slush and some tread for the snow.Hope that helps, hopefully someone from CV will chip in too.

Bad. Town is OKish but head anywhere out in the countryside and you will have problems.

Decisions decisions. Well it looks as if my chance of getting a 'proper' ride in are dashed - but might still bring the bike for local duties... -

Been out around meriden/maxtoke/fillongley and lanes are okay, i'd pedal on them on my skinny bike.
Heading up to Coventry for xmas, wondering whether it's worth bringing the bike - how are the roads - particularly the country lanes...?
