Good stuff. I used to be firmly anti- this, but I've changed my mind. Everybody cites Cage as an influence, but few have worked with him. A hero of mine, John Cale, has. I like the idea behind this very much - make of it what you will.

One interesting thing about 4'33" is that 4min + 33 sec = 273 seconds. Why is that interesting, you ask.
Well - negative 273 is absolute zero, a temperature which it is impossible to create.
So Cage has created 273 seconds of silence - but of course absolute silence also is impossible to create, as there will always be ambient noise.
And it's a damn sight better than any crap the kidz are listening to these days.
