Practise spinning faster and upping your cadence. After a while it will feel natural to spin twice as much. Better for you, too.
Depends what the bike's for, I guess.

I've a 57t Campag chainring I took off my Mercian-when I got it it was set up as a sprint bike.
Apparently you have to order them special from Campag, I'm too much of a sissy to put it to any use until i get further into my steroid program though.
I'd just go for Max's option and up the cadence-much better for your knees and doesn't require USSR style quads.

Does the hub take normal sturmey type sprockets?

just measure your chainring against the biggest dinner plate you have, if its smaller then get a bigger chainring, failsafe.

HighPath do any tooth count you want or need, weird cut-outs, your name engraved, longer teeth to hold the chain better on SS/FG drivechains, super strong, super light, elliptical . . . etc . . . just about anything you want.
Obviously custom chain rings are more expensive but they are not too bad and they apparently last for much longer than a shop bought chainring.

Gebhardt out of cezch republic make very good chainrings. I think their normal program goes up to 57 but they make up to 70 teeth ones on custom order with really fast turn around. I donĀ“t know about availablity in the uk though.

I've got a barely used 56T chainring. All yours if you're willing to buy the bike it's attached to - a dinky little Mezzo D10. They get these chainrings made specially to comensate for the diddy 16" wheels.

https://www.soniccycles.co.uk/gebhardt.php sell Gebhardt chainrings in the uk and custom orders take up to 6 weeks.
so, i have just acquired a 2 speed kickback hub. the high gear is 1.1 and the low gear is something like 65%. the cog on the hub is 18t and that is the only size they are made in (there are some other doodads attached to it).
so, my question: i would like the ratio for the high gear to be 3.23 or as close to it as possible. therefore i need a 58t chainring. do they exist?
after reading a bit i found out that having a low cadence can destroy your knees so i changed my ratio down to 2.89 (52:18) and i just end up going slower because i stop thinking about my cadence. hopefully i dont have to have this as my high gear.
