  • I'm a fan of these English Heritage monuments to persons of note having once lived where they're displayed, so I thought it would be good to share some of our favourite recipients/locations - for sure there'll be some we've not yet heard about or discovered.

1 George Orwell - Portobello Road.

2 Mozart - Mozart Terrace, Pimlico.

3 'The inventor of the shopping trolley' no less, up Crouch End somewhere. Richly deserved. Somebody had to invent it, after all. Can't remember his name though, or exactly where.

  • Charlie Chaplin has a 'special' black plaque on Kennington Rd/Lane

  • There's a plaque for T.S. Eliot on Kensington Court Gardens, Kensington Court Place.

  • William Blake on South Molton st has always been a favourite of mine

  • Charles Dickens round the corner from scoble. In Bloomsbury somewhere

  • 1 George Orwell - Portobello Road.

2 Mozart - Mozart Terrace, Pimlico.
