  • Our new CEO is a keen cyclist; maybe I should ask him for a holiday on 30th/31st :P

  • I have taken my mobs home before, but i sat on the cat box and broke it.

I shouldn't laugh, but this is funny even if you don't misread "moobs"...

I'm available for cat sitting duties for most of Xmas but as I have essentially given up riding bikes you will have to live within running distance of my house (that appears to be everyone so far though, SE London ftw).

  • I'm going to the Arsenal vs Chelsea game.

Which means to get a big ride in on the 24th, Im going to be cycling back to Norfolk (maybe)

  • There's already peeps talking about doing 500k+ single rides for charity. Out.

  • *"Finishers T-shirt:
Riders that complete the Challenge will also have the ability to purchase a limited edition Rapha Festive 500 Finishers T-shirt from the Strava Shop." *

  • Definitely getting the miles in this year. Gives me an excuse to get away from my family on christmas day too.

  • i think id manage this if it was 22-29 but might not managed it from the 24th

    hmm.

  • i am just doing my own self-imposed 500k from 19 - 26 December. no strava. no rapha. no t-shirt.

well i might actually be wearing a bit of rapha but you get the gist

  • i won't have a bike with me during this period so i'm opting for the other strava challenge - running 30mi in ten days. probably easy for most people but i've never run more than sprints before. time to buy some trainers

  • I've signed up.. will probably end up doing about 50km, but hey. The plan / pipe dream is 4 or 5 realistic length rides rather than trying to smash it in 2 sessions or something.

Would be way better if it was 22nd - 29th for me.

  • Stuck between the 500 or the running challange this year too, mainly due to a lack of time to get the miles in with work commitments.

    Hmmm

    Hmmm

I've entered both and will inevitably fail to complete either. Meh.

    Sartorial excellence Jonny!

Why everything needs to be done in the name of charity is beyond me.

That and wearing fancy dress to absolutely everything.

I'll not be doing the 500 this year for these reasons.

Oh - and because I'm bone idle, and will be bollocked if I'm doing this anyway.

  • I'm in.

Not quite sure that's the idea, have you considered getting a new family? ;)

Everyone needs a break. Mainly they need a break from me whingeing about strictly come dancing on ice with doctor who, or whatever other shit is on the tele.

  • Two months off the bike, binge-eating and writing my thesis.

What's that? Ride to Tokyo and do all 500 km in one ride? Great idea!

  • What's the weather like in Japan?

I've actually got a few days off around xmas so it should be much easier to hit the 500 and much nicer than the repeated laps around Regents Park I was doing last year!

  • Signed up. Already a cause of tension in the household.

  • Anyone tempted to try to do the running one as well?

    Dalsnobba, if you will.

  • 500k of running?

  • 33 miles

  • What's the significance of 33 miles?
