Anyone had a problem with velodromeshop.org.uk?

Posted on
  • I'm having trouble getting responses from velodromeshop.org.uk and am starting to sweat. I know there are delays with deliveries due to weather etc, but it looks as if my bike has been lost in the mail and velodromeshop.org.uk are being unsympathetic - i.e. ignoring requests to sort it out.

Has anyone ever had to get a refund from them? Or anyone got a direct phone number for them (nothing on website)?

  • Nope, did a quick search on the companies house website, but couldn't get a director's name etc for free- I suggest you post on veloriders forum, I think the owner posts there sometimes.

  • ^my cranks arrived eventually, albeit without a (promised) confirmation email or reply to my last email.

  • weird.
i had a good experience with them. phone conversation with proprietor, sorted out with custom config on otp bike, stuff arrived on time, good price.
sucks man, hope this gets sorted out.

  • What you bought Matt?

  • I wouldn't sweat it, the courier we use at work is running 3-4 days behind - they're not even taking calls due to the high volume of queries. Even my nipper's Xmas bike from Wiggle hasn't arrived after 4 days - and they're usually spot on with deliveries.

  • Alot of couriers have suspended next day servicies and some are not accepting deliveries to certain postcodes because of the knock on affect of the weather and it's still shit in some places.
Weve had a alot of 2 day deliveries that have taken 8+ days.
Pretty sure that store is a part time venture anyway.
but use distance selling regulations to your favour.

  • I have heard nightmare stories about them, a small company so the guy isn't around all the time and he uses shit couriers at times like HDN (google hdn problems). That's not to say he's dodgy, just a bit hit and miss.

  • Makes traxfactorcrowe sound good

  • Does anyone have a contact number for them? I can't find one and need to call them.

  • try this
    07509256675

  • Just thought I'd add that I have found velodromeshop.org.uk to be extremely helpful when asking for help & advice, when other companies have completely ignored my emails (Shiny Bikes).

  • I felt compelled to join the forum to give a small rant about this dealer. I ordered a helmet from them last week and the money was deducted from my account within seconds. They emailed the next day to say they didn't have the helmet, so I asked for a refund. They said it would take 2-3 working days to hit my account, but it ended up taking 5 (a week from the day I placed the order). That's a long time to be out £120 for an item that they never had, as well as a hassle to to find out from them what the problem was. In the end, they blamed it on my bank.

There's a reason there's no phone number on the website - they suck and don't want to be bothered about it. I reasonably suggested that they send me an equal-value helmet while I waited for my refund, and I would post it back 2-3 days after the money hit my account. Strangely, they didn't take me up on that offer. Avoid at all costs.

Mate, not to be funny, but I work in a business where things can be bought and have to be refunded all the time. 5 Days is actually exceptionally fast, we quote 3 weeks, and that tends to be for much larger sums of money than £120 - this is based on our finance department processing the refund immediately. It is the banks who take the time to process these kind've things - not the shops!

Equally I can understand your frustration at ordering an item and it not actually being available (had it with winstanleys bikes in the past). But I would say that, in this circumstance, its really not the shops fault for the delay in refund - they just need to sort their stock accounting system out.

(ps, I've ordered from them recently, and the stuff took a day longer to arrive than quoted, but it was all in order...)

  • Yeah I think it was the lack of accountability about the problem more than anything. But I learned my lesson - next time, ask in advance if they have it in stock before I let my money go out into the ether.

  • Bought a frame and some other stuff few weeks ago for 471GBP. They did not have the frame available, so asked for a refund. Just noticed at my webbank that they refunded 350GBP instead of the whole sum. Ehh. Emailed them, we'll see what happens.

  • maybe they refunded you the frame but continued to process your order for the other stuff you mentioned?

  • no, the cost of the frame was 389, and I specified that I wanted refund on the whole order. Which they agreed on.

e: Ill let ya know how things turn out

  • It sounds like people have had some dodgy experiences but i've ordered a few things from them and never had a problem, although I would agree that they don't seem the most switched on because they accidentally sent me a free brake set when I bought my Fuji track from there.

  • Their answer was that they though I only wanted the frame cancelled, which sounds pretty strange as the cost of the frame is higher than 350 and in the next two weeks they did not send me the other items they had in stock... Be careful with velodromeshop

Well, a year ago bought sg75 cranks from them without any problems.

  • Needed a cog for a race and decided their own-brand ones looked good quality
Despite the 24-48Hr delivery estimate it's been a week and I'm still waiting.
Race has been and gone and now I don't need any of my order

Would not bother with them again myself

  • Bought a BB + cranks on the 29th November because I was being organized and needed them for the 2nd Jan. Mid December, still nothing so I start emailing them. After three stock replies just stating when they posted it (they claimed the 7th December) they eventually agreed by ~20th Decemberish that maybe they had been lost in the post.

They were all like "OH OK we'll post you out the order again", which to their credit they did and it arrived the next day. Not to their credit the cranks were 170s instead of 165s. OMFG. Posted them back to them the same day at a cost of £5.38 (which I very much doubt I'll ever see again) and fuck knows if I'll ever actually get them.

So yes, avoid avoid people. Should've just paid the £3 more and got them off Evans O_o

  • I ordered Stronglight track chainring. It should be 7075-T6 aluminium alloy by description and picture, but they sent me 5083 alloy version (quick search on amazon.co.uk reveals these sells for half as much) and insist that's alright, it's the right item and if I'm unhappy I can can make return (at my own cost). Given that they even don`t list 5083 version on their website it seems like pure fraud, like shiping genetic tibia cranks instead of SG75. Shipping chainring back would cost about 4 GBP to me, so it's no big, but maybe there is a way to make this case real PITA for them?
