we get it often, export the pdf in higher resolution.

Also, make sure the fonts you are using are in the Indesign fonts folder.
I've had it before where if you are using a font manager the fonts that you are using ar not always embedded in the pdf.

Save a new version of your InDesign document (make sure you do this) then, using your new version select the text, go to Type then Create Outlines. Not ideal but the printers will be able to print it.

^don't do this if you have any paragraph rules doing their thang.

Thanks, will try these... not sure Create Outlines will do - this is for a biggish catalogue so has to be pukka? Everything this end seems fine (rasterizes fine in PS etc?)... font panic... AGH!

Biggish catalogue, you say? Yeah, forget the outlines thang, dude. :)

As it is only the 's' that's missing, it could be a corrupt font.
Don't know if you keep duplicates of fonts at all, but perhaps you could try loading a dupe instead of the font you are working with.

did you preflight and packaged the indesign file? and is the font you used a legitimate purchased font. I have a few cheeky downloaded fonts which often have bugs, that could be it too?
A printer I've just sent a job to has reported missing characters in a PDF I've sent over (generated in InDesign CS2 - apparently the letter "s" is occasionally dropped). I've never had this before, any ideas much appreciated???
