Cold set frame in brum

Gonna need to get a frame cold-set in Birmingham in the new year, I know it's a job I could do myself but It's a nice frame and would prefer to take it to a frame builder who knows what there doing and can align it properly etc.

So anyone know of any frame builders in the birmingham area?

I don't think they're frame builders. It's likely they'll have the same frame-alignment tools as most bike shops, which I use mainly for checking, rather than 'cold setting' (which sounds like a pretentious name for bending). I'd try someone like Lee Cooper (Coventry?)

possibly. i dont know much about the process any more than here-http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html. they said they can do it when i was looking to get mine done but i didnt need to in the end. didnt enquire about how.

How much bending is required?

And what sort of tubing does your frame have?

It's 126 needs to be spaced out to 130, I should be able to spring it enough to fit the wheels in, but would prefer to have it done properly for ease of use in the future. It's 531 Super Tourist tubing. Lee cooper sounds like a good option.

Not all tubing can be cold set, but 531st definitely can. 126-130 isn't all that much. Lee Cooper is a top notch framebuilder, but you shouldnt be weary of doing this yourself, fairly foolproof.

Lee Cooper could do it, though Scotts probably would do just as good a job of it. As I don't drive I've dropped a frame round to Scotts for them to deliver to Lee for me. I'd start with them.
