  • Buy that condor potenza frame that was floating around yesterday, muchbetterer.....

  • Can anyone tell me if a pista fixie can be converted to a free wheeler?

Yes, but there is no drilling for a back brake, so you would need to drill it or clamp one on.

  • You'll have to part with lots of time and money to get an Alan Pista!

You can convert any bike with long dropouts/trackends to single speed, it just depends on your rear hub (fixed, free or fixed/free). Most track frames from about 1970 onwards will not be drilled for a rear brake, which you should really use as you can't brake the rear wheel by resisting the momentum of the rear wheel like you can on a fixed wheel.

  • Quite a few Alan's come up for sale here, particularly from over Holland. Keep an eye out for the sale threads of SimplexNL in particular, rih, peter v and maryann. SimplexNL is your best bet - I picked up an Alan from him.

  • Alan Pista no doubt
