christmas LFGSS BHM meet?

There's a London get together, are the main Birmingham crowd heading down there to the Camden or is it worth trying to set up a few beers in a (bit) out of the way drinking establishment for a few glasses of falling down juice?
I'm a newbie and barely know anyone, so i'd like to think this as a good way to boost newbies face to face knowledge of forum names, i'm also a recovering student so this visit to the pub feels natural in my therapy process
so suggestions for;
