Wanted: Can you recommend someone on here that could make up a couple of wheels for me?

Sorry, I've been all over 'Wanted' today. I have a couple Rigida Dp18s I need laced to shimano hubs. 36 H. Any recommendations for good workmanship at a fair price would be greatly appreciated.

Willing to pay whatever it takes - got a quote from a certain overpriced bike shop today of about £90 including spokes...

Yes, Richard built my wheels. Much less than the price mentioned above, and I got them back the next day after dropping round my parts.

£90 is about right with 72 decent spokes.

@ Dovvles - It's probably not far off is it..? But I might just give 36 x 18 a shot - thanks TS.

2 suggestions for you.

1 - work out what length spokes you need,buy those, a spoke key and a couple of cans of lager/ mug of tea, go onto you tube and watch some videos on building wheels and have a crack yourself, i did last winter and i've ridden the wheel almost everyday since January including a weekend riding down the Thames path to Henley with 2 heavy panniers.

2 - buy spokes, give me parts and i'll build them for you. would only do 3x though, and would require some beers from you, and whilst id true them for you if they go wonky i don't offer any kind of guarantee.

I have used the forum's very own Arup in the past and would absolutely 100% without a shadow of a doubt about use him again should I need more wheels built.

I'm tempted to say 'let's do it together', to teach/show/demonstrate. Building wheels is a process that needs to be shared and enjoyed, in order that a rider can deal with problems as they arise if they arise. I've read that it's like 'herding cats', so it's just an idea so far. Have pm'ed op.
