I have several:
HARRY QUINN ROAD FRAME 1972
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 51mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Harry Quinn from Liverpool had an enviable reputation as a framebuilder and many of the frame builders from the north-west learnt their skills from him. This frame dates from late 1972 and is in very sound condition. The fastback/shot-in seatstays are a very distinctive feature of Harry Quinn’s work. It could easily be used as a very cool conversion. £95DENTON ROAD FRAME 1963 by Mercian
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 60mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This frame was built by Mercian in 1963 for Dentons, a bicycle shop in Newcastle. It has the very distinctive Mercian seatstay wrapover which was introduced in the late 1950s and continued through to the late 60s. The paint and chrome are really rather good - there are some marks that can be cleaned off and it will then be a very attractive frame. It would make a very straightforward conversion. £135PEARSON ROAD FRAME 1960s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C/sprints with brake drop of 63mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a rather nicely built Pearson road frame which dates from the 1960s or early 1970s - its in very good condition and will make a great fixed or singlespeed conversion. £120FREDDIE GRUBB ROAD FRAME
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C/sprints with brake drop of 62mm
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
This Freddie Grubb road frame with bags of character from the early 1960s is built from Reynolds 531 tubing throughout and the paint is in good condition, certainly very useable though it would benefit from some careful touching up. It will make an excellent fixed or singlespeed conversion. £95SWINNERTON ROAD FRAME c1989
Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 44mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 653
This Swinnerton road frame built from the light Reynolds 653 tubing is in very good condition except for some paint scrapes on the right-hand seatstay. It could well have been built by George Longstaff (George’s daughter managed the Swinnerton shop) and their top frames were built by Longstaffs for quite a period of frame - it certainly shows some George Longstaff details. In my opinion George Longstaff was probably the finest British framebuilder of the last twenty years of the 20th century. It would make a very cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £149 -

Of course the frames of Hilary stone are irresistable and emphasize the craftmanship of the British framebuilders.
But may be you're also interested in a Gazelle frame seattube 56 cm c-t toptube 54 cm c-c.
This frame is an AA-special frame, Reynolds 531C, the top of the line of the Dtch Gazelle brand.
This frame is brandnew, never used, never build up, has no signs of use or age. GBP 360, posted to Dublin. -

Hi Mercian 531 and Maryann, thanks for the replies, Lovely frames... especially that Gazelle WOW! But there out of my price range, i'm looking for a decent 531 anywhere round £70-£100 mark to be powder coated when i get her back to Dublin!
Thanks again
Ian
P.S Also looking for a headset, stem, bottom bracket and seatposts if you have any secondhand?

I have:
HOLDSWORTH SUPER MISTRAL c1968
Seat Tube (ctt): 22in (56cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
This is a very nice Holdsworth Super Miostral road bike from about 1968 - at the time it was Holdsworth’s top model - the Professional was not introduced until a year later. It has been nicely refinished in the iconic Holdsworth Orange - this has a few small marks. It has Suntour gears, SR chainset, Shimano large flange hubs on Weinmann Alesa 27 x 1 1/4in rims, a Brokks B17 naroow saddle (it has a small split by the nose but is perfectly useable) and Cinel 1A stem with Cinelli bars. Brakes are Weinmann 500. £195I can sell the frame on its own for £145.

Thanks Hilary, i'll think about this one.
I'm more after something like that denton or freddie grubb, ideally below a 100£ that i could restore and paint the way i like.
Will keep checking your posts. -

Turns out i don't need a 54-55cm frame. I'm actually looking for a 57-58cm Reynolds 531 or something similar, nothing too fancy as i'm gonna powdercoat it. Thanks and sorry for mix up!
Ian
Hi guys,
I'm from Dublin, Ireland and i'm looking to build a singlespeed for a friend, she's a female and about 5ft7" i' think. Does anyone have a good frame for sale that you think would be a good size. My friends 5ft8" and rides 56cm so i think 54cm should be good?
Kind Regards
Ian
