630mm to 622mm gives a 4mm difference in radius for the two sizes. A 27 x 1 1/4 tyre is very like a 32c. How chunky is the tyre going to be?

I'm using the 27 1 1/4 Michelin City's, they're roughly 35c judging by the sister 700C ones I have on my polobike.
I might just take the wheel to BC tomorrow and see which Surly forks offer the most clearance, then when the honjo's arrive, hope for the best?

Is it for a beater or simply to get something running? I have an old fork you can have for free if you like, but it's not in the best condition. If it's for a decent bike it's best to get something else. Details are on here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread51068.html
As above, I have been googling for a while and can't seem to find any, even on the bay. I have looked briefly at using 700C forks but I'm worried that the 27 1 1/4 wheels, + a fairly chunky tire, won't give me clearance for mudguards...
Any thoughts/tips appreciated
